Simply Australian

As Jonah is half Aussie, half Yankee (or a quarter Aussie, three quarter Yankee if you want to get technical), I've introduced some quintessential Australian delights at an early age. Next we'll be practicing boomerang throws, didjeridoo, and driving on the other side of the road.

Crawling Practice

Learning to crawl is hard work and it requires strength, agility, patience and perseverance. Not to mention plenty of rest afterwards.

Jonah and the Hoh

Aunty Alissa is in town and we took a drive to the west coast of the Olympic peninsula to visit the legendary Hoh rainforest. It was dripping wet, verdant green and stunningly beautiful. We also visited Forks and did a little "Twilight" shopping. Jonah even posed on Jacob's motorcycle; he's such a huge fan.

Fun in Bed

My Little Man

Jonah is growing everyday. He seems to fill out with every passing moment-his face, his chest, his legs get longer and stronger. Sometimes I can almost see what he might look like in 10,20,30 years.

Jonah Time

Jonah loves books. Jonah loves sitting in front of the mirror and making faces at himself. Jonah loves sitting near Fela. Jonah loves doing all of the above simultaneously.

Baby Bok Choy for Halloween?

Baby Bok Choy? A leafy vegetable? What kind of Halloween costume is this? What sort of mother am I, anyway? sigh. Oh well, there's always next year. In fact, I've already begun compiling a list of Halloween costumes for 2010...Here are a few of the highlights: Yoda, Chuckie, Xanadu, Pee Wee Herman....

Fall Fashions

Gone are the days of bare feet and tank tops. Gone are the days where a diaper and a smile would suffice. Instead, we're seeing wooly pants, overalls, plaid, hats with earflaps, 3/4 and full length sleeves, leather shoes and strappy boots. Oh, and jackets. Lots of jackets.

Home Sweet Home

Its been quite a month. Where did October go? For starters, we bought a home on 5 1/2 acres outside of Port Townsend. Its an unfinished NW style house full of natural light and good energy. Near the house sit a quaint studio (aka Karyn's cottage) and a neat workshop (aka Jason's abode). The property is mostly wooded except for the clearing around the buildings and a lower garden/meadow. Its a perfect place for a little boy to explore, build forts on, chase snakes through, and romp around with a certain puppy.
