Maiden Voyage

Jonah is the excited recipient of a Cougar bike trailer! Thank you Grandpa Gordon! Only slight less excited is his mother as this device will allow her to get back on her bike for the first time in a long while. Its like the bike version of the Ergo baby carrier. The whole family took a spin down Blossom Lane with Fela leading the pack.

I'm not that innocent

Jonah is not that innocent, at least, thats what Brittany says. and as he sits here with no pants on, I believe it. Thanks to Auntie Alissa for this super cool card.

Facing Forward

Turning one year old is a milestone in many ways - not the least of these is how the babe rides in the car. We turned Jonah's carseat around to face forward the day after he turned one. We were anticipating a 10 hour car ride to Oregon's south coast and wanted to increase his happiness level in any way we could. What a difference it made! Jonah was able to see out the front windshield and converse with us at great length. Talk about a backseat driver!

Jonah loves Cob

We took a trip down to Oregon to visit with my cob teacher, Ianto Evans and stayed in a lovely cob cottage called The Bedrock. Jonah enjoyed watering the plants outside our cottage-we've been "wee-ing" him with great success since he was 7 months old. Babies CAN learn to use the toilet if only they are given the chance.

Birthday Boy!

Ladies and Gentlemen, we did it. Jonah Hobson Temple is one year old. I think back - going into labor, his birth, the babymoon, the endless days of moby wrapping him, the inguinal hernia, the first bath, the second first bath, learning how to put a diaper on, learning how to feed him, gazing into his deep unblinking eyes, weeping with joy and love, the late night, middle of the night and early morning feedings, putting him in a basket for naps, the first tooth, the first smile, the first toys, the laughter and frustration and sheer transformation of me as a person and as a mother. Its been utterly remarkable.
