Salt Creek Campout
We camped at Salt Creek for a couple nights with some good friends. What a fantastic time we had! It's good to step away from the "plant this, build that, earth family!" mentality and just enjoy the beautiful surrounds we live in. Salt Creek has wondrous tide pools to explore, a gorgeous beach, grassy fields to run in, a fabulous playground for the children to play at and the adults to secretly sip beer at, and wondrous views to enjoy. It was so nice to cook outside, sleep in a tent, not brush my teeth or bathe and do nothing for 2 whole days!

Summer???
Why am I so melancholy? It's technically still the season of sunshine but I can smell the whispers of autumn around the bend. Actually on some mornings, autumn is sitting squarely in my lap. But that's okay. Because we like all seasons around here. And sometimes, I feel like we live 3 seasons in a day, which is apparent from the heap of rain gear, sun hats, woolen sweaters and bikinis lying around. But I'm okay with this. Here are more than a few photos capturing some of summer's finest moments; soon I'll be posting photos of pumpkins and fallen leaves...
Actually Flying a Kite
You regular readers (dare I say fans?) may remember a previous blog posting about kite flying. If not, please refresh here
I think we more than made up for our dismal yet entertaining attempt with our latest successful kite flight.
