daytripping with phoebe

my sweet cousin came to visit us all the way from australia. within an hour of landing on US soil, she was professing her love for all things american and snapping photos of japanese tourists. i showed her many of the things port townsend has to offer, like beautiful beaches and frigid waters, incredible views to canada and beyond, charming old buildings and beach side coffee. we made margaritas and ate fish tacos. we shopped. we picnicked in a sea of daisies on the banks of crescent lake. we hiked to marymere falls and breathed in negative ions. we drove back roads up to hurricane ridge and marveled at the view of snowcapped peaks. phoebe was wild about deer the way we would be about kangaroos. we picked strawberries between mountain and sea. we went to yoga; we did thai massage. we had a blast. jonah loves her. so do i.
